Grid World | Empowering Digital Upgrade of Mine Safety: Successful Completion of New Technology Training by Shanxi Provincial Coal Geophysical Survey and Mapping Institute Co., Ltd.

2025-03-06

Beijing Grid World Software Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Grid World") was invited by Shanxi Provincial Coal Geophysical Survey and Mapping Institute Co., Ltd. to participate in the first training session on new technologies and methods for digital mine safety hosted by the institute. With the theme of "Research on Key Technologies for Constructing Geological Digital Twins", this event closely followed the "Fundamental Improvement Campaign for Work Safety" initiative put forward at the 2025 National Two Sessions, promoted the digital and intelligent transformation of the mining industry, and injected technological momentum into high-quality development.

Expert Leadership: Core Technologies Empowering Industry Transformation

As the keynote speaker of the training, Professor Yang Qin, Chairman of Grid World and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Computer Science and Technology at Beihang University, combined his dual experience in scientific research and industry to conduct an in-depth analysis of the cutting-edge mine digital twin technology:

· 3D Geological Modeling System: From multi-source data fusion, modeling algorithm optimization to complex geological body visualization, constructing a high-precision "transparent geological foundation" for mines;

· AI Integration Applications: Exploring practical paths for AI technology in the field of mine intelligence, improving the ability to predict geological safety risks;

· Future Prospects of Digital Twins: Looking forward to the interactive applications of geological models with the Internet of Things and real-time data, realizing "full-life-cycle intelligent management" of mines.

Practice-Oriented Approach: Technology Implementation Driving Safety Upgrade

Focusing on the pain points of mine work safety, the training adopted a "theory + cases + interaction" format to help participants master core digital skills:

· Analyzing typical mine geological modeling cases and demonstrating the standardized process from exploration data to 3D models;

· Sharing development experience of intelligent early warning systems, strengthening dynamic monitoring technologies for major risks such as gas and water hazards;

· Exploring the industry-university-research collaborative innovation model, promoting the efficient transformation of digital twin technology from laboratories to mine sites.

In-depth Discussion: Integration of Geophysical Prospecting and Modeling Empowering Mine Safety Ecosystem

During the discussion session, Professor Yang Qin's team held in-depth discussions with leaders, experts and technical representatives from Shanxi Provincial Coal Geophysical Survey and Mapping Institute Co., Ltd. on topics such as technological collaboration, industry-research closed-loop, and intelligent leap-forward development. The discussions included how to promote the in-depth integration of geophysical prospecting data and 3D modeling, explore an efficient path of "technology R&D - scenario verification - industry promotion", and discuss innovative application scenarios of general large models in various departments of the company. Both parties reached a strategic consensus on joint research to tackle core technical challenges.

This training further promoted the paradigm shift of the mining industry from "experience-driven" to "data-driven". As digital twins gradually become the "digital ID" of mines, work safety is entering a new era of "calculable, deducible and controllable" risks.
